You didn’t forget to take a day off work to come to my book presentation at VDNKh, did you?
I wanted to write a happy post before the event.
Thanks to you we were able to prepare 50 Donbass kids for school!!!
50 kids received notebooks, pens, rulers, paints, and much else. They are from families for whom this is an unaffordable luxury. They are not simply Donbass kids who lived through war and continue to live there. They are from families with many kids, disabled, adopted. Families who lost homes, single mothers. Kids who really need this help. And every time we do this, we end up with very happy posts. Because children are the future. Children are life.
50 kids is our new record, and you can’t imagine what kind of effort it is to assemble all the kids and distribute the aid.
We did it in the midst of insane Lugansk heat. Not some African heat. Believe me, I know what I’m talking about.
It took us two days. Lena, Zhenya, and the Lugansk City Center for Social Services to Families, Children, and Youth workers should have a monument built to their memory. The center has a long, convoluted abbreviation, but you already know well of it from my many posts.
So, look at the maaany photos of kids with school kits.
Here’s what Zhenya wrote:
“Nearly all the moms were wowed, one said that it was murder trying to get a kid ready for school. It’s hard to find money in a tight budget even for a notebook.”
Look, what lovely kids!
Для Центра передали бумагу. У них каждый листок под роспись и её катастрофически не хватает. Не смогли не помочь “девочкам”.
Certificate of appreciation. With my name on it, but it’s for all of us!
Thanks to all who participated in our school aid effort!
You are a miracle!!!
Yesyes–don’t forget to come to my presentation.
All my Lugansk friends envy you because they are not in Moscow, because they would definitely show up!!!
